Now that the girls (Aubrey, Kenzie and Madi) are getting older I never know when I might get to spend "grandma" time with them. Friday night Aubrey, her friend Katie, their boyfriends and I had Spa night at our house. It was a fun night getting the girls ready for prom. We did a bubble and herb foot bath, massage and french toe nails (Aubrey's were tipped in orange to match her dress, Katie's white tipped). Then we did hand cleansing, buffing and moisturizing treatments, face masks and lip buffing and mosturizing. A chair massage, lots of giggling and funny jokes and I also did french nails for Katie. I think the boys had as much fun as we did.
On Saturday I took Aubrey to get her hair done and they served sparkling apple cider, strawberries, crackers & cheese. It was a pretty full morning. Aubrey got home in time to start dressing before Katie and the dates came. Aubrey looked "awesome" in her dress and so did Katie. Aubrey work an orange gown with yellow and clear beading and Katie's was rose pink with a burgandy sash. The boys brought the girls matching beaded corsage bracelets with Gerbera daises. Both Katie and Aubrey have great boyfriends, they all talked without reservation to the the adults and were laughing and joking.
Later in afternoon we went to the promanade at the mall and then we watched Caleb and Sophi so that Amy could go to the high school and watch the grand march. On Sunday, Katie and Aubrey and dates were going to the mega mall and zoo.
This weekend I am looking forward to seeing Abram when Angie and Barry come home for the weekend. Brandy, Darlene and Angie are planning a couple's shower for Rachel and Bill so they are going to be doing invitations and grandma gets to spend time with Abram while they are making them.

Prayers.........
For several years now when I am suddenly awakened during the night I pray for everyone I know beginning with A-Z. I trust that I have prayed for the correct person when I fall back asleep. God gives us a little nudge once in awhile to pray for those that may not always seem to need it.
I am finding the sunshine and warmer weather brightening my spirits these past few days. It is so nice to be outside without a coat and I finally have experienced the warm breezes in my face on the way to my car after work.
This weekend is prom and Aubrey is going with a friend Alex. Her dress is quite the fashion statement and I know that she will look quite beautiful in it. Her dress is tangerine with clear and amber beading. We are looking forward to seeing her all dressed up.

Happy Tax Day ................
Hope everyone has gotten their taxes completed and sent in! Last night Bill and I raked the lawn. It was two hours of rigorous raking and picking up sticks and rocks that little Caleb loves to throw all over the yard. It felt good to be outside and the lawn looked great once we were finished. The sunshine helped to make the job a little bit easier.
I was nominated to give a presentation tomorrow to Managers. The plus to this is, it will only be 10 minutes long. Some really dry material so if it doesn't last the whole 10 minutes I am sure no one will notice. Last fall we started doing "LEAN" projects here at work and our team process was to review the departmental product ordering process. We were able to come up with some helpful ordering tips which cut down on processing time thus saving ALMC some reduced man hours as well as a wad of cash so now we have to explain the process and results to the management team.
It is supposed to be 65 today so when I get home tonight I am planning on riding bike around the lake - if it's not too windy. The ice is still on the lake - kind of odd for the middle of April. It is feels great to be finally outside doing things!

A Vacation of a different kind........
Back in March Bill asked me if I would like to take a quick vacation somewhere warm. I being so very tired of winter, quickly responded "YES!" So, it is off to Las Vegas we went on Sunday. It was indeed a warm vacation, nice room and lots of walking and tourist watching. In Vegas you find people from all walks of life. From the glamorous to the homeless. Many signs from "homeless need food" to those announcing the most fabulous realms of entertainment. "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" signs are everywhere! The glitz is everywhere! The planes are loaded with happy, expectant winners on the way out to Vegas and it is a much quieter, subdued crowd that returns. Me, I came back happy after four solid days of sunshine with temperatures above 70, enjoyed delicious foods I don't normally eat and even did a little souvenier shopping.

Thankful for New Beginnings..............
I am so proud of my sister Darlene and her husband Jay. They started the new year kicking the "cig" habit and are well into their 4th month of being tobacco free. I know that this is a big feat for them since this was their stress reliever - hope you guys found a better way to relieve stress! Way to go guys!!!!! Keep up the good habits!
