This weekend we will be celebrating! Bill and Rachel have a couple's shower at my sister Brandy's house. Angie, Brandy and Darlene have been busy with the planning for the last couple of weeks. One plus to this was that I was able to enjoy some extra time with Abram. He is quite the little "guy" and we have so much fun with him. I can't wait to see him eat his "rice" cereal!
Angie and Barry are driving my Aunt Carolee down with them this weekend. It will be a good time visiting with her. Usually when we get together we have a project going, like scrapebooking, working on baby quilts or beading but I don't think there will be time to do much extra this weekend.
I am looking forward to this busy weekend and having family gathered around!

Grandma thoughts.................
You can observe a lot by just watching… Yogi Bera
Happy Mother's Day to everyone! A little poem about looking through life as a grandma!
Grandma's Eyes!
Grandma's eyes laughed and cried as a little girl.
Grandma's eyes filled with happiness and wonderment at the joys of her born children.
Grandma's eyes showed excitement as she watched her children set out on their own.
Grandma's eyes filled with love and blessing at each new grandchild.
Grandma's eyes see what the love of the Lord can do for those she loves.
With each heartache comes the joy of a new tomorrow, with each passing comes a new soul born. A bright new day to each of us is given to live, to love and cherish all who are in it!

Better Than Dinner and a Movie....................
In my younger years, I was always thrilled to be able to get away for a night out but now having my grandkids(and children)all home at the same time means so much more. The dynamics change in our home once they are there! There is excitement, laughter, an occassional squabble and yes even crying but there is also something that makes a peaceful feeling in my heart, just to know that I am blessed with this extraordinary family.
We had a good weekend making invitations for Bill and Rachel's couple's shower. We went over to Brandy's and then went back to our house. We had planned on going out to eat but Bill brought the Wii over so we got subs and everyone took turns playing Wii, which is always a big hit with kids as well as the grownups!
On Sunday, we drove to Medford for Darlene's husband Jay's birthday party. It was at the park in Medford. It was a nice afternoon outside.
Last night I tried out our new lawn mower (I'm trying to be creative in getting a little more exercise done each day) It has an electric start and so easy to use!
Of course, I told Bill not to get any ideas of me taking over the lawn mowing!

A Special Surprise................
Bill and Angie (Barry) will be home this weekend so I can have some grandma time with Kenzie, Madi and Abram. Not too often that this happens where they are all home together. The girls simply love Abram so I am sure that they will be happy to keep him entertained. To top things off, we get to spend time with Brandy, Zach, Brayden and Kailey. Angie and Brandy are going to make invitations for Bill and Rachel's shower on Saturday at Brandy's - hey, maybe they will even put Bill to work!
I am almost at the end of my 5th confirmation small group. There are two sessions left this spring and then 3 sessions in the fall. I have a great group of kids and it has been a fun year with them. I really have enjoyed them and we have had some great discussions on faith and witnessing. The three sessions this fall will be writing a faith statement and then there will be a night where they read them for parents and others.
Yesterday was Caleb's 6th birthday. Amy had a small family birthday party for him on Wednesday night to celebrate. (he was going to his dad's on Thursday) I stayed later to help Amy clean up and Caleb was so excited about turning 6, he could hardly get to sleep. He brought treats to school on Thursday and was looking forward to that.
Yikes! If gas goes any higher we have decided that we will ride bike to work. It is only two miles and we are trying to find time to fit a little more exercise into our daily activities anyway. It must be awful for those who really have a commute these days. We are thankful that Bill is now in Rochester! It must be tricky for those of you with families to manage a budget with the price of groceries and other essentials on the rise. At least with summer coming, we have a choice whether to run the air or not so utility bills can be somewhat lower. That is "if" it warms up!
