I knew that losing my mom would be a long, hard journey but I was not prepared for the emptiness it has left in my heart. She had a 4 year battle with cancer, diabetes and heart problems. At the end of each surgery she just seemed to spring right back and be up and around in no time. The last surgery which was to enlongate her esophagus to repair a hiatal hernia was supposed to be a routine procedure but this is the surgery which God decided to take her tired body home to Him for peace and healing. When I think of my mom I will always remember the smells of home made bread baking, the many things she sewed and crafts she worked on and her infectious smile.
She had a kind heart and will be missed by all her friends and family.
