Kenzie is twelve!!! Walmart in a Tornado Watch..................

Our granddaugher McKenzie is twelve years old today! Happy birthday Kenzie!
We saw her for the 1st time when she was 2 weeks old - Angie and I flew out to California to see her and brought her a large white teddy bear with pink ribbon.
Teddy was bigger than Kenzie. She was such a sweet baby! We took her to Disney Land when she was 3 weeks old, she even got a cute disney outfit to wear. She could wink with both eyes when she was 10 months old and could say "puppy". I have been blessed to be a part of her life in her growing up and look forward to her teen age years!

The beginning of June is always a rainy time but this is very unusual to have so many storms. I was stuck in Walmart last Saturday at about 5:00 p.m. for almost an hour (a tornado touched down in Lake Mills and was coming towards Albert Lea) It was a really funny experience - they made everyone go to the back of the store to Lay Away and it was pretty ridiculous because there was no more shelter there than any where else in the Walmart building. Teen girls were crying and everyone was on their cell phone so cell phone lines were busy. They passed out water and cookies to try to keep everyone calm. Me, I wasn't about to get in the mix of all those people so I stayed close to the area but on the outside aisle, helping those with children. I was thankful when they called an all-clear. So, I guess lesson learned is don't go to Walmart when it looks like there is going to be a storm!

The flowers and tomatoe plants are all planted now so I guess it is good we are getting the rain. I love planting and watching the tomatoe's grow and I even bought a pepper plant this year. The rabbits love my evergreen tree's (I woke up one morning to the rabbit standing on his hind legs greedily eating up the tender morsels of the evergreen branches) so I have applied "liquid fence" it works great, is not harmful to the environment but is made with rotten eggs so it smells absolutely terrible. The smell quickly dimishes after it applied though. Thank goodness the little varmits are leaving them alone now.

We have a chipmunk in the neighborhood; Caleb and I nicknamed him Charlie. You wouldn't believe how many holes a chipmunk can dig in a day. We really have to do something about him too but he is so cute!

Angie called last night and Abram is rolling over! Can't wait to see him myself!

I had completely forgotten about Kenzie's ability to wink when she was a baby! Her learning had something to do with the dog winking right?
I don't believe you got stuck in Walmart! Sounds like a movie...

I'm pretty sure they keep everyone away from the merchandise in case they loose power and people start helping themselves to whatever they want. There's a protocol all retail stores have during a storm. I'm pretty sure there would be a liability if they let someone go and they drove into a tornado and ended up in Oz.

For the record, the dog could wink either eye, McKenzie was able to do it soon after.
